This day and age I think most of us are aware that our planet’s resources have already been explored and abuse beyond reason. Because of this, we must not encourage production, but promote sustainability, re-using old things, reducing our carbon footprint as much as possible. The drawings to be presented at this show are the beginning of an inventory of the things I have gathered and am a personally responsible for. By drawing each object I grant a special time of focus and value to each thing, looking for it’s beauty and undermining the idea, promoted by our consumer centered society, that everything is disposable. It’s time to cool it down and drawing your objects can be a good first step. Other artists have done it, maybe you should do it as well? I would love to see those drawings.
